Training, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation on Gender and AIDS (TRMEGA) we are a voluntary, non-profit making organization formed by 13 members to mobilize, sensitize and empower less privileged/vulnerable and marginalized groups and individuals (widows, very poor women, most vulnerable children and youth) within the community to envisage their livelihoods. TRMEGA is located 25km from Arusha city, 150 meters from Arusha to Moshi road, near Kwa Aloys bus stop.
TRMEGA operates its’ activities in Arusha Region, Northern Tanzania in East Africa. It was established in December 2009 and officially registered on 13th September 2010 with registration number 01NGO/00004102, Helen Nguya being the founder.

TRMEGA is a membership organization guided by principles of Justice, Voluntarism, Solidarity and transparency. Its’ members are drawn from different fields of interest such as Community Development, Rural Development and HIV&AIDS, Agriculture, Gender Planning and Development, Economics and Research. This provides a large knowledge and skills base in addressing the complexities of the marginalized development issues.

TRMEGA envisions a society in which the vulnerable and marginalized are empowered and have equal opportunities in attaining sustainable livelihoods.
To share efforts with the local Government and the Community in empowering the vulnerable and marginalized to combat the effects of HIV/AIDS, to balance gender and alleviate poverty.
Helen.T. Nguya has Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Rural Development and Teaching in year 1996 from Laurenstain University in the Netherland. Also she holds MA in HIV/AIDS and Rural Development from Laurenstain University of Professionals in the Netherlands in year 2006. Worked with Agriculture & Community Development Government Institutions for 15 years, also she worked for 10 years with the Catholic Archdiocese of Arusha as the Managing Director of the Development Department. She managed very well 15 development projects which were funded by Misereor, Caritas Germany International, Caritas Aachen, Church in Need, CAFOD, SCIAF, Catholic Relief Service (CRS), Cordaid, Partner shaft for Afrika, Caritas Australia, Caritas Tanzania and Social Action Trust Fund.
The idea and interest of establishing TRMEGA originated from Mrs. Helen T. Nguya the founder after her retirement from working the Church Development Projects in year 2010.
For the past 15 years up to date Helen has been working as Managing Director of TRMEGA Projects on Training activities on sensitizing and empowering the people living with AIDS on self-recognition to build their confidences and positive attitudes regarding their status. The people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS have been empowered on Nutrition, Health and Economic improvement.
From 2019 TRMEGA expanded its’ activities by implementing a Program on supporting the Most Vulnerable Children and Youth, Widows, Very poor women and Caretakers of the most vulnerable children (MVC Program). Under this Program TRMEGA Seminar Hall including the office for MVC Program was constructed. Also time2help have been supporting TRMEGA MVC Program since from 2021.
Victor Mturi has a Bachelor degree in Project Management with 3 years’ experience in working for the TRMEGA MVC Programs.
Lina.C.Nguya, she holds a Bachelor degree in Community Economic Development, with 3 years’ experience working in community Development Projects and 3 years’ experience working with TRMEGA MVC Programs.
Sarah Masam, has 1-year experience in Accounting and Secretarial work for the TRMEGA MVC Programs.
